OurTechnology

At Collins Endodontics, a root canal treatment is comparable to having routine dental work completed. Our digital radiography will be used to help in diagnosing the problem with your tooth, while exposing you to 80% less radiation than traditional film.  We use "focused field" 3D imaging that exposes you to only a fraction of the radiation, equal to three dental x-rays. We are able to visualize and inspect your tooth employing a surgical microscope, enhanced with an assistant scope as well.

Digital X-Rays

Dr. Collins utilizes the most advanced dental technology possible, as well as the latest treatment techniques. Our dedication is to provide you with the safest treatment options available, which is why we utilize digital radiography in our office. Our digital radiography will be used to help in diagnosing the problem with your tooth, while exposing you to 80% less radiation than traditional x-ray technology.

CBCT 3D Imaging

Dental 3D imaging allows Dr. Collins to view your teeth in all dimensions.  He can see problems not able to be seen with conventional dental x-rays.  We can enlarge the 3D images, examine them from any angle and essentially "look completely through the tooth". There are benefits to using 3D images. Often, difficult situations such as having extra roots, fractures, or an area of infection in the jaw can be visualized. These images can aid in diagnosing problems or be used during surgical intervention. We use "focused field" 3D imaging that exposes you to only a fraction of the radiation, equal to three dental x-rays.

Dental Microscope

Dr. Collins utilizes a microscope to find and treat all the canals inside the tooth. We are able to visualize and inspect your tooth employing a surgical microscope, enhanced with an assistant scope as well. A root canal treatment takes place in a very small environment. The use of the microscope allows Dr. Collins to see intricate details inside of teeth. When a canal is not found, a tooth may not heal, and may require additional treatment in the future.  At Collins Endodontics, we use a microscope on every tooth to ensure that no canals are missed.  Dr. Collins will take photographs of your tooth through a camera mounted on the microscope so that you will be able to see what is happening as your treatment progresses.
